1. Prospectus can be obtained form the Directorate of Distance Education, Annamalai University, University Study Centers or SIMS - Puducherry, by paying Rs.100/- in person and Rs.130/- by postal.All your admission will made in DDE, Annamalai University- Chidambaram // at University Study Centers in a different parts of the country // admissions through SIMS, Puducherry. Original Certificates will be returned after verification with photocopies. The Directorate of Distance Education is the only authority to confirm all admissions.
2. All your courseware (study materials), regulations, available PCP venues, syllabus with PCP schedule for the academic year will be dispatched to Students address by SIMS, Puducherry after the Directorate of Distance Education confirms your admissions.
3. Contact classes (PCP) are organized by SIMS throughout the country in renoved hotel management colleges or catering institutes. Contact classes calendar ie. Dates for the PCP will be intimated by postal after the admission confirmation. The institute tied up provided good Lab, Class Room, Library facilities and Model Operational area like model restaurant, rooms, bar counter, housekeeping ect. for practical demonstrations & Training Classes.
4. Personal contact programme - PCP is compulsory for all the students.
5. Students are expected to wear uniform prescribed by the institute while attending the classes (theory, practical and practical exam) during the PCP session. (Note: uniforms should be arranged by the students at their own cost.)
6. Students are directed to take up Industrial Exposure Training-IET for stipulated period from any standard hotel for better exposure and produce IET certificate, at the end of your course which also decided for the clearance to appear for final year exam.
7. Students are suppose to carry out Practical Record work during the PCP session and hand over the same during the practical exam which is supported to be conducted after practical classes during contact class - PCP session itself.
8. Separate Project fee has to be remitted in time before the PCP session starts. The payments shall be in favour of "The Correspondent, Soorya Institute of Management Studies", payable at Puducherry (Pondicherry).
9. All Project work and industrial exposure training certificate (IET) will be verified and approved only in person at Puducherry (Pondicherry). Topics for the project work will be allotted to students at the year beginning.
ATTENDANCE AND REGULATION
A circular of details of date, venue and time for the Personal Contact Programmes for the whole academic year will be sent by Soorya Institute of Management Studies to all the Students.
The attendance certificate shall be issued to the students on the last day of the compulsory contact programme. Students must attach a self attested Xerox copy of the attendance certificate to the application form for registration for the University examination at the end of the academic year.
No Student shall be permitted to take the examination if he/she fails to satisfy the minimum requirement of attendance at the compulsory personal Contact Programme.If he/she takes the examination without attending the Compulsory personal Contact Programme or/and Practicals the result of examination shall be cancelled.
